25 Sep How Exaltis Came to Be
For the very first blog post on our new website, I’d like to tell you a little bit about Exaltis and how it came to be.
Facing redundancy, I started looking around for a new job and there was literally nothing at all that took my interest. My role at Ecommnet (and throughout previous employment) had been so diverse. I was responsible for the accounts, marketing, website content and so many other aspects of the business. I went from Office Manager to Sales & Marketing Manager and then to Marketing Director within a relatively short period of time due to my achievements within the business. Starting again as an employee just felt very wrong.
I wanted to use all of my skills to help small businesses across the North East. I realised that so many small businesses are struggling with their marketing, website content and SEO, or even struggling to do their own day-to-day accounts. This can put a huge strain on a business, especially when they’re not ready to commit to employing additional permanent staff. So, what if I could plug that gap in skills for more than one business? I could think of nothing better than helping SME’s to thrive and succeed.
It was a big step. It was an even bigger gamble. But life is a gamble, and if you want things to change in your life, you have to be willing to take a leap of faith every now and again. So I did.
Next came the name. I wanted something different but something with significance. Exalt means to raise to a higher rank or position. That is exactly what I want to do for other small businesses. So with a slight twist, Exaltis Solutions was born.
Exalt: raise to a higher rank or position.
From there I registered my company and worked my butt off to get the website put together and launched within 4 days and I’m really pleased with the results. (Can you tell that I’m feeling pretty proud of myself?!)
Within the first week, before I have done any advertising, I have so many incoming sales leads.
For anyone thinking about starting up on their own – if you want to do it then go for it! It is scary but completely liberating (and I can certainly offer up some advice and support if you need it). On the other hand, if you’re a small business in Newcastle, Gateshead, Northumberland or anywhere else in the North East and you could do with a bit of help to boost your business – whether that is freeing up your time or helping you to get your brand out there, please get in touch. I would really love to hear from you.
