How is Coronavirus Affecting Small Businesses?
Coronavirus (Covid-19) is a serious threat to health – especially for the elderly or those with pre-existing health conditions, but it is also a HUGE threat to small businesses.
People are scared. Shopping centres are the quietest I’ve seen them and shelves are empty.
I deal with many other small businesses and I have noticed a big difference in business over the last few weeks. Networking events have been cancelled and we seem to be heading for a total lockdown which is a big concern for small businesses and the self-employed. Everyone is protecting their income as well as their health and aren’t spending money. This is going to have a huge effect on our economy……so what can we do?
Be Sensible
Common sense needs to be applied at all times! Be careful, be vigilant, self-isolate if you’re feeling poorly with a fever or new cough, but remember that this will pass. The population is not going to be wiped out, and while we do need to be cautious, we also all need to do our bit to support small businesses (and each other) during this period.
